Study #5 -- Friends and Family Galore
In Heaven, you will have loving fellowship with God's people and angels...

God commanded His children to love one another here on earth. You shall continue to do so (and more so) in Heaven.   (Jesus said..) "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another" John 13.34a
As you enjoyed fellowship with family and friends on earth, so shall you also enjoy fellowship (and more so) in Heaven.   But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1.7

Think about it!

  • Any time you want to, you can have a "backyard barbecue" at your place. (As to what is meant by your place, see Study #7 below.)
  • You can invite any of God's people you want -- your family, your angel friends, your human friends, even Moses -- WHOever! They'll all come.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133.1
  • Be sure to invite Lord Jesus. He'll come, too. Jesus loves to fellowship with YOU!
(Jesus said...) "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me". Rev 3.20

Study #6 -- Heaven is an "Equal Opportunity Employer"

The human population of Heaven will include all those folks who have received Jesus as Savior and Lord...

  • Men and women, boys and girls, from every race and walk of life.
  • "Red and yellow, black and white -- we are ALL precious in God's sight!"
There is neither Jew nor Gentile, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3.28

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of
all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne (
of God in Heaven) and before the Lamb (Jesus) Rev 7.9a
Yes, Heaven is a place of great diversity. However, read carefully the verse alongside. Heaven is NOT "diverse" as the world defines diversity.   But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. Rev 21.8
  • Yes, Jesus will save any sinner who comes to Him.
(Jesus said) "...the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out." John 6.37b
  • However, sinners who come to Jesus must repent (turn away from) their sins.
(Jesus said) "...unless you repent you will all likewise perish." Lk 13.3b
  • If a person continues practicing his or her sins and perversions, then that person never TRULY came to Jesus.
...as for those who keep on sinning, they should realize this: They sin because they have never really known Him (Jesus) or become His. 1 John 3.6b, LB

Study #7 -- Your Place in Heaven

In Heaven, you will have a place to live, prepared for you by Lord Jesus.

(...and NO mortgage payments or property taxes!)

NOTE: A description of your future eternal home is given in Study #14.
(Jesus promised you...) "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14.2

Study #8 -- Heaven is a Busy Place

In Heaven, you will be BUSY...

  • Not sitting on cloud nine, playing a harp.
  • You will be kept very busy serving God.
The throne of God and of the Lamb (Jesus) shall be in it (Heaven), and His servants shall serve Him. Rev 22.3b

The Bible shows that God always puts His people to WORK...

  • God put Adam and Eve to work.
Then God blessed them (Adam & Eve), and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it'' Gen 1.28a

The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to
work it and take care of it. Gen 2.15, NIV
  • God's put His angels to work.
Are they (angels) not all ministering spirits sent forth (to earth) to minister (serve) for those who will inherit salvation? Heb 1.14
  • God expects YOU to do His works while you abide on Earth.
(Jesus said...) "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Mt 5.16
  • When you go to Heaven, God will expect you to continue doing His works throughout His universe.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Eph 2.10

After all, God reigns over an infinitely large universe, including an innumerable host of His people and angels.

  • God intends for you, as His daughter or son, to participate in His reign.
  • That means God ALWAYS will have work for you to do.
The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. Ps 103.19

If we endure, we shall also reign with Him (
Jesus). 2 Tim 2.12a

Study #9 -- No hospitals in Heaven

In Heaven your resurrected body will be incorruptible and immortal...

  • "Incorruptible" means your body will never get tired or wrinkled or stinky. It will never age or wear out.
  • "Immortal" means your body will never die .
For this corruptible (body of yours) must put on incorruption, and this mortal (body of yours) must put on immortality. 1 Cor 15.53

Study #10 -- No Medicare in Heaven

In Heaven there will be no sickness or dying or pain.   And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Rev 21.4

Study #11 -- No Beds in Heaven

Heaven is a place of rest.   Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: `Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' '' "Yes,'' says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.'' Rev 14.13

Rest does NOT mean inactivity.

As retired people quickly discover, inactivity is BORING.

After all, your resurrected body won't get tired or sleepy. You won't need or want a bed in Heaven.

The kind of rest you'll enjoy in Heaven is...

  • Being with folks who love you
  • Having a real purpose for your life
  • DOING things that refresh and fulfill you
  • Being secure from stress and hatred and evil

Love, purpose, fulfillment, security, holiness -- THESE words define your "rest" in Heaven. Halleluyah!

(God promised...) The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever. My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places, Isa 32.17-18
